Here's the thing about large-format art - it's bold. It's fabulous. It's powerful. And it's in your children's reach.
We'll start with a meaningful subject. I create the composition and draw a few leading lines on the canvas to get the young artists started.
With some artful direction from me (I am an arts educator who delights in teaching young artists), the participating children paint the body of the work. During the 4-6 hour session, I offer professional art instruction and document the experience with photos.
After the session, I can add small touches (as needed or requested - this is completely optional). I then varnish the canvas and prepare it to be cherished and displayed in your home.
I invite you to scroll through the gallery below of recent Art In Residence sessions. The creations are magnificent. The experience is so very rich in content, emotion, and the goodness that only art can deliver.
This will be an heirloom in your family for generations to come.
Interested in having your little arteeests create something stunning for your home? I'd be delighted to assist!

Yes. Your canvas will be a stretched gallery-wrapped canvas.
That is completely up to you! The gallery wrap allows you to hang the artwork right away.
The standard rate covers 4-6 hours of painting and instruction.
Each group is unique. I have worked with families that prefer an action-packed 4 hour session and families that have little artists begging for more time after 6 hours. Needs, skill level and beyond will be discussed in your advance consultation. I will plan the session with your family's needs in mind.
The beauty of doing this 'in residence' is that little artists feel comfortable to take a detour and then return to the painting. Those small breaks also allow me to step in and modify the artwork as needed.
Absolutely! Travel expenses are simply added to my standard rate. You can read about travel fees here.
The standard rate covers up to 4 participants (not including the instructor).
Of course! You may have more than 4 artists for an additional fee of $100 per additional artist.
The names of all of the participants will be signed on the painting. If artists are old enough to sign their own names, excellent. If not, I will do that for them.
Please email me with your location and requested dates. We'll take it from there.
A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking.
Travel fees (if applicable) are also due at the time of booking.
